Concert for CPC's 105th Anniversary Held in Beijing, Xi Jinping Attends
A grand concert titled "People First" (人民至上) was held in Beijing on the evening of June 29 to celebrate the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC). Party and state leaders including Xi Jinping, Li Qiang, Zhao Leji, Wang Huning, Cai Qi, Ding Xuexiang, Li Xi, and Han Zheng attended the performance along with approximately 3,000 audience members, jointly celebrating this glorious occasion.
The Great Hall of the People was brightly lit and filled with a festive atmosphere. At 19:55, accompanied by cheerful music, Xi Jinping and other Party and state leaders arrived at the concert venue, and the entire audience broke into warm applause.
"Sing a folk song for the Party, I compare the Party to my mother..." With the clear children's chorus, the concert began. The performance was divided into five movements. Artists and performers expressed their boundless love for the Party through exquisite instrumental performances and moving vocals, sounding the powerful voice of national rejuvenation.
The concert opened magnificently with "Ode to the Red Flag" (红旗颂), with its stirring melody evoking patriotic feelings. The orchestral piece "To the Forebears" (致先辈) expressed deep remembrance and reverence for revolutionary martyrs. Classic songs including "Azaleas" (映山红), "Osmanthus Blossoms Everywhere in August" (八月桂花遍地开), "Yellow River Cantata" (黄河颂), and "The Sky of the Liberated Areas" (解放区的天) revisited the grand scenes of unity between the military and people during the revolutionary war years, conveying the joy of hundreds of millions following the Party and welcoming a new life. The orchestral and choral piece "Colorful Homeland" (多彩家园) — composed of works including "Wielding Whips to Hasten the Grain Transport" (扬鞭催马运粮忙), "By the Butterfly Spring" (蝴蝶泉边), "Laundry Song" (洗衣歌), "Spring Arrives in the Fields" (春到田间), "I Extract Petroleum for the Motherland" (我为祖国献石油), and "Sunshine Shines on Tashkurgan" (阳光照耀着塔什库尔干) — depicted the vigorous development across all industries and the passionate scenes of people of all ethnic groups building their homeland together during the period of socialist revolution and construction. The orchestral and choral piece "Fields of Hope" (希望的田野) used a series of classic songs to reflect the remarkable changes taking place across China since reform and opening up, expressing the beautiful aspirations of the Chinese people working together to realize their dreams.
Through 105 years of shared storms and 105 years of united endeavor, the entire concert was moving and splendid. The orchestral pieces "Joyful Mountains and Waters" (山水欢歌) and "Heart to Heart" (心心相印) showcased the thriving prosperity of the new era. The symphonic chorus "Love Fills the Mountains and Rivers" (情满山河) conveyed deep feelings of family and country with delicate emotion. The orchestral piece "Worthy of the People" (不负人民) was grand and magnificent, pushing the atmosphere to a climax. The concert concluded with the entire audience joining in singing "Without the Communist Party, There Would Be No New China" (没有共产党就没有新中国).
Members of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, Secretaries of the Central Secretariat, Vice Chairmen of the Central Military Commission, Vice Chairpersons of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, State Councilors, the President of the Supreme People's Court, the Procurator-General of the Supreme People's Procuratorate, and Vice Chairpersons of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference who were in Beijing attended the concert.
Also in attendance were: leading officials from central Party, government, military, and civil institutions as well as Beijing Municipality; representatives from the central committees of democratic parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, and non-party personages; recipients of national honors and awards; veteran Party members and retired officials; foreign expert representatives working in China; grassroots Party members and representatives from various sectors in the capital; and military personnel stationed in Beijing.
