Ms. Liu from Linyi, Shandong, reported to The Paper's public interaction platform "Service Pai" (https://tousu.thepaper.cn) that she had transferred 160,000 yuan to Wang Moushun, an employee of Sinopec Sales Co., Ltd. Yantai Petroleum Branch Fushan No.15 Gas Station (hereinafter referred to as "Fushan No.15 Gas Station"), to purchase 400 cases of peanut oil, but later found she could not take delivery of the goods.
On June 24, a relevant staff member of Sinopec Yantai Petroleum Branch responded, saying that the involved Wang Moushun had indeed been an employee of the company, but he was not sure whether he was still working there, and that the company's relevant leaders were handling the matter.
Recently, Ms. Liu told The Paper that she had previously purchased grain, oil, alcohol, and other goods multiple times through a staff member surnamed Wen at Fushan No.62 Gas Station. On June 15, through the introduction of the staff member surnamed Wen, Ms. Liu got to know Wang Moushun, an employee of Fushan No.15 Gas Station. Wang told her that there was a batch of discounted peanut oil for sale.
When inquiring about the peanut oil situation from Wang Moushun, the other party sent a video of stacked cases of peanut oil to prove that there was indeed a batch of peanut oil. On June 16, Wang Moushun told her the warehouse address.
Ms. Liu said that because she had made multiple purchases before, and the transaction method was always offline inspection and online transfer, without signing a written agreement or issuing an invoice, she was not wary. On June 16, she arranged for a Huolala (freight) driver to go to the warehouse to inspect and pick up the goods. The driver told her that there were indeed 400 cases of peanut oil in the warehouse.
Subsequently, she transferred 80,000 yuan to Wang Moushun via WeChat. After the goods were loaded, she transferred another 80,000 yuan to Wang Moushun's personal bank account, totaling 160,000 yuan.
Just as the truck was about to leave, warehouse staff came forward to stop it, saying that they did not know Wang Moushun and had not received payment for the goods. Ms. Liu immediately contacted Wang Moushun, but he made various excuses and did not directly resolve the matter.
Ms. Liu realized she might have been scammed. On the afternoon of June 16, she went to the Beiyuan Road Police Station of Lanshan Branch, Linyi Public Security Bureau to report the case. She said the police called Wang Moushun but could not get him to return the money. She hopes to recover the money as soon as possible.
Earlier, she found Wang Moushun's corporate WeChat through other employees of Sinopec Yantai Petroleum Branch. He is a gas station attendant at Fushan Company's No.15 Gas Station of Yantai Petroleum Branch. Ms. Liu said that when she previously contacted Sinopec's customer service hotline, the response was that this was an employee's personal behavior and had nothing to do with the company.
On the afternoon of June 24, The Paper contacted the relevant person in charge of Fushan Company, Yantai Petroleum Branch, who responded, "The specific situation is subject to the police announcement." As for whether Wang Moushun is still an employee of the company, the person did not disclose.
That same afternoon, a relevant staff member of Yantai Petroleum Branch told The Paper that Wang Moushun had indeed been an employee of the company, but he was not sure whether he was still an employee. He also revealed that the company's relevant leaders were handling the matter.
On June 24, The Paper called the relevant police officers at Beiyuan Road Police Station of Lanshan Branch but did not obtain effective information.
