Chinese Embassy: 7 Chinese Citizens Confirmed Dead in Venezuela Earthquake

According to the Chinese Embassy in Venezuela, as of 17:00 local time on the 26th, preliminary statistics show that 7 Chinese citizens have been confirmed dead in the "June 24 Earthquake."

According to CCTV News, on the 26th local time, Jorge Rodríguez, President of the National Assembly of Venezuela, reported that the death toll from the strong earthquake that struck Venezuela on the 24th has risen to 920, with another 3,360 injured. A total of 383 residential buildings have been completely or severely damaged, most of which are located in La Guaira state.

Rodríguez called on the public not to travel to La Guaira state to avoid traffic congestion and to ensure the rapid transfer of the wounded and the smooth operation of rescue teams.

Venezuela was hit by two earthquakes of magnitude 7 or above on the 24th, causing massive casualties. The Venezuelan government has announced multiple measures to deal with the severe earthquake disaster, and the international community has provided post-earthquake assistance to the country.
