Lanzhou University issued a statement on June 27, stating that the university places great importance on the online reports concerning issues related to a paper by one of its faculty members, Teacher Yang. An ad-hoc investigation team has been promptly established to initiate the probe.

According to media reports, an academic paper published in the Journal of Membrane Science has been found to contain a watermark generated by Doubao AI. The paper's first affiliated institution is the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Lanzhou University, with Teacher Yang serving as both the first author and co-corresponding author.
