Explosions Reported in Iran's Sirik Region, US Military Says It Has Struck Iran Again

CCTV News has learned that as of June 27 local time, the United States has launched military strikes against Iran.

The US Central Command issued a statement saying that under the direction of President Trump, US forces have carried out a new round of strikes against multiple targets inside Iran. The statement said that after US forces struck Iranian targets on the 26th in response to the attack on the merchant ship "Changyue," the US side had given Iran an opportunity to honor the ceasefire agreement. However, at 4:30 AM Eastern Time on the 27th, the Iranian military once again launched one-way attack drones, hitting an oil tanker sailing under a Panamanian flag carrying over 2 million barrels of crude oil.

The US military stated that these strikes were a direct response to Iran's continued attacks on commercial shipping, targeting Iranian military surveillance infrastructure, communication systems, air defense positions, drone storage facilities, and mine-laying capabilities. The statement said that commercial vessel traffic through the Strait of Hormuz continues, and US forces remain on high alert.

Iran has not yet responded to this.

Previously, after the US and Iran reached and signed a memorandum of understanding, US forces launched strikes around the Strait of Hormuz on June 26, targeting Iranian missile and drone storage sites as well as coastal radar stations.

According to Iranian sources, several explosions were heard in a village in the Sirik region of southern Iran. A military source said the explosions were caused by multiple projectiles hitting a communications tower. According to another informed source, several shells also struck Qeshm Island in southern Iran.
