Countdown 3 Days! From Huangpu River and Suzhou Creek to the Hudson River, 'Benliu' Comes to New York

"Benliu: Starting from Shanghai — Global City Humanities Dialogue" (hereafter referred to as "Benliu") Season 3, the Shanghai-New York Twin Cities Dialogue, is about to begin. Following the first two seasons in Paris and London, this season of Benliu will cross the Pacific Ocean, opening a dialogue between Shanghai's "One River, One Creek" (the Huangpu River and Suzhou Creek) and New York's Hudson River. It is organized by The Paper and Shanghai New Nanxi (Group) Co., Ltd., co-organized by Jiemian-Cailianshe, with special thanks to China Eastern Airlines. The New York Forum is co-hosted with Bloomberg Limited Partnership.

Benliu Season 3 New York Series Events Launch Ceremony & New York Forum

Date: June 30, 2026 (New York Time)

Venue: Bloomberg Headquarters, New York City

Shanghai and New York, two super-metropolises that flow like the Huangpu River, Suzhou Creek, and the Hudson River — from international financial centers to international consumption centers — share a foundation for dialogue and cooperation opportunities. Through high-level openness to address volatility, industrial upgrading to convey confidence, and two-way investment to build consensus, this forum takes "Rivers Surging, Opportunities Growing Together" as its theme, focusing on the shared certainty of both cities: anchoring growth through open cooperation and reshaping the future through innovative resilience.

More than 200 distinguished guests from Sino-US political, business, and cultural circles will attend, including: Minister Tang Zhiwen from the Chinese Embassy in the United States; Michael R. Bloomberg, Founder of Bloomberg LP and Bloomberg Philanthropies; Professor Da Wei, Director of the Center for International Security and Strategy at Tsinghua University; Tom Orlik, Chief Economist at Bloomberg; Yao Ming, Chairman of the Yao Foundation; Mary Schapiro, Vice Chair of Bloomberg and Special Advisor to the Founder and Chairman; Julia Solodova, Secretary General of the Global Business District Innovation Federation; Li Bing, Bloomberg Asia Pacific Chairman; Zhang Yidong, Executive Committee Member, Head of Research, and Chief Economist of Haitong International Securities Group; Peng Song, General Manager of the Financial Markets Department at SPD Bank; Li Xiaowei, Deputy General Manager of Fullgoal Fund Management Co., Ltd.; Liu Jinjin, Goldman Sachs Chief China Equity Strategist; Leena Das, Head of Asia Sales at Bank of America; Zhang Junwei, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Jing'an Nanjing West Road-Suzhou Creek CAZ Management Committee; Jennifer Leemann, Senior Vice President at Tapestry Group; and Josh Perlman, Executive Vice President at Authentic Brands Group.

This event will also launch the "World-Class Central Activity Zone (CAZ) Decoding Plan," which aims to empower Shanghai in building an international consumption center city and a global functional highland through in-depth research into the growth logic and evolution of world-class CAZs.
